This was my first ever experience of skiing. So, I was a little bit nervous about going because I am not the most athletic person but once I arrived I realized that anyone can go skiing no matter what age they are. The ski schools out there are amazing and within a couple of hours of being on the slopes it's surprising how much you can pick up.

Once we arrived Innsbruck we stopped at a resort called “Kuhtai”—a beautiful little resort only about 30mins from the airport, perfect for families. We then made our way to Solden which is where we stayed for 3 nights.

The next day we collected our ski gear and checked into our ski school and then had about 4 hours of ski lessons which was a lot of fun. Then for lunch we headed right up to the top of the mountains where we had a lovely meal and then headed back to our chalet to relax before we went out in the evening.

The next day we headed over to a resort called “Obergurgl” where we all did a couple of hours skiing. This resort is a lot smaller than “Solden” but is a lovely little resort and can be reached by public bus. After our afternoon at “ Obergurgl” we then headed back to “Solden” where we had a lovely evening meal in our chalet and then headed out for a couple of drinks.

The following day we had our final breakfast and then made our way back to Innsbruck airport to get our flight home.

Handy Tips for First Timers

⭐️ I would have a couple of lessons on a dry ski slope before you go to learn the basics.

⭐️ Make sure you take your thermals!

⭐️ The food in Austria is amazing and not expensive either.

⭐️ Solden is where scenes from the James Bond film “Spectre” were filmed.

⭐️ The lift pass was so helpful, it is definitely worth purchasing.
