Celebrate the nation’s King Willem-Alexander on this bustling day of parties and live music. The open-air festival revolves around outdoor parties found on every street of the city, and an extensive flea market. King’s Day attracts 700,000 visitors alone to Amsterdam each year, all of whom are eager to join the party.
Festivities start at 6.am when locals seize the chance to get rid of their odds and sods in the form of clothing, instruments, books and miscellanea in a street market that sweeps the whole city. If vintage is not to your taste, don't worry - there are an abundance of street food vendors to tickle your appetite. Flocks of party goers take the canals in heaving party boats, and a multitude of large scale music events entertain. Gay street parties take place near Amstel River, whilst other areas are dedicated to children’s acts.
