I have been working in travel for nearly three years and am really enjoying my job as sales consultant with Regal Travel.
I love meeting new people and finding out what they enjoy doing on holiday to make sure I can find the perfect destination for them as everyones requirements are so different.. It is great hearing their stories when they come back, it is what makes my job worthwhile.
To be good at this job I believe you need to take an interest and listen to what the client wants in order to book the right holiday for them.
Personally I prefer relaxing holidays with plenty of nice restaurants and bars for evening entertainment. I like to have a 3* hotel with good facilities and a large pool! My dream destination would have to be Florida as there is so much to do there (I'm still a big kid).
I have been lucky enough to visit some amazing places, one being Zante which I have just returned back from and am looking forward to visiting again in the future.
We stayed at Playacar on an all inclusive basis as the holiday was based at the resort. Mexico is more than just a beach holiday and definitely more than sleepy men sitting under sombreros. Whether at Riviera Maya or in Cancun there is a lively exciting atmosphere. The people are friendly and welcoming and there are shopping area to spend your holiday money. The sea is ideal for swimming, snorkelling and diving or just cooling off after sunbathing. Take a trip to the Mayan ruins before a night in your hotel sampling the fiery tequila.
I went to Bulgaria in mid September and really enjoyed it. There was plenty to do and the people were lovely. However if I went back I would go earlier in the season as some things do close down early. It was very cheap to eat and drink so there is no need to book all inclusive, and the choice is excellent. There are plenty of designer clothing outlets so leave plenty of room in your suitcases as it is very cheap. Overall Bulgaria is a great choice for couples, families or singles. I would definitely go back.
New York.
I have recently returned from New York and it was one of the best places I have visited. I went for 5 days and managed to do everything I wanted. My top tip would be to buy a three day ticket and use the tourist buses. They are one of the cheapest ways to travel and you can get to see everything and get information at the same time. You can hop on and off whenever you like and another bus comes along every 15 minutes. One of the best things we did was a helicopter ride, a great experience. The Rockefeller centre is worth a visit
I stayed here on an all inclusive basis. The local people were lovely and could not do enough for you. I went to the north of the island and next time I would like to go to the south as I enjoyed the holiday so much and would like to see more of the island. We went on monster truck safari where we went across the island to meet some of the locals, it was a great experience. The island has a very Spanish feel to it which comes out in the food and the music. The night life is mainly based around the hotels but there are great shows which keep everyone entertained
This is one of the true Caribbean islands. The all inclusive hotel complexes are by far the best choice, as they have wonderful food and entertainment. We hired a car to go round the island but it would have been better had we taken organised excursions. One of the best was to Dunns River Falls which I would not recommend to anyone with walking difficulties but the scenery is beautiful. Also Ricks Cafe is a must especially when the sun is setting as it is beautiful. Overall Jamaica is full of typical laid back culture with traditional reggae music playing everywhere you go and jerk chicken at the ready.
We stayed in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh and it was brilliant. There was a free shuttle bus available from the hotel to go to Naama bay and we used this quite a lot. If you stay in Sharm el Sheikh the holidays are mainly hotel based some even have their own man made beaches, and the diving and snorkelling is recommended – fantastic. However you only have to walk into the sea to be able to watch all the sea life. Naama Bay is a much busier resort buzzing with bars and restaurants and plenty of shops. The food offers a wide range of different dishes to suit all tastes so the food is never boring. My tip would be not to go in peak period if you don't like it very hot.
Kos has something for everyone, I would recommend it for couples, families and singles. There is a great variety of night life available for those who want it but Kos also provides a base for a laid back holiday. As in all areas of Greece the people are welcoming and friendly. The food is typical Greek from a tasty Greek Salad to a warm and homely moussaka. Ouzo is the local drink, but don't have too many! Kos Town is worth a visit with the fortified walls overlooking the harbour, and ruins just across the road from the bars. It is cheap to eat out so a self catering holiday would cause no problems.
This is a great family destination, and I would recommend hiring a car as it is a great way to see the island. Lindos is one of the prettiest areas on the island, also Pefkos which has a long sandy beach. As with most of Greece it is great to go on a self catering basis to try out the delicious local dishes. There is plenty to see on Rhodes from historical sights to beautiful scenery.
