Whilst still in school I was sent on work placement to Regal Travel Porthcawl office, and there I caught the travel bug.
Later I was offered a place as a trainee at the Bridgend office and now five years on am a fully trained member of the team.
Each day at Regal Travel is different, no two clients are the same. Each person has their own special requirements and ideas of what makes a perfect holiday, this makes my job a challenge and I enjoy using my knowledge to find what the client needs. When people come back to me again I know I have been succesful.
This year I have been lucky enough to have holidayed in New York and the Red Sea Riveria resort of Sharm El Sheik. I also honeymooned in Thailand!!
New York is an exciting city and great for shopaholics. Take an open top bus to see all the sights, with just one ticket you can get on and off when you want.
Seeing in the New Year in New York is great, but take a tip from me, book if you want to go to bars or restaurants, also book early if you want to see a Broadway show.
My best memory of New York was midnight in Times square – AMAZING!
I travelled to Koh Samui on my honeymoon following a stop in busy Bangkok and it was just the medicine we needed after the hectic months of wedding preparation.
It has beautiful, sandy beaches and the sea is perfect for scuba diving. There is plenty of nightlife, which goes on until the morning, with lots of bars and restaurants to try the tasty Thai food.
Also don't forget to sample a Thai massage, wonderful!.
Take the opportunity to visit a Thai boxing match when you are there.
I visited Marmaris in July 2004. Marmaris is a busy resort for both families and couples, there is always plenty going on. All of the bars have live entertainment and big screen TV. There are also plenty of late night clubs for the younger couples.
The beach and promenade are full of shops, bars and restaurant. There is a waterpark in the centre of Marmaris, it is only small but very popular with families because of its' good location.
Make a point of visiting the bazaar at the harbour to purchase all your fake designer goods.
Don't forget that during July and August the weather can be very hot and best avoided if travelling with young children
